Brockport's Dunne Announces Retirement After 24 Years; Clarke Set to Take Over as Interim Head Coach
September 20, 2023SUNY Brockport Head Men's Basketball Coach Greg Dunne announced his retirement on Wednesday afternoon following an incredible 24 years with the program, including the last 16 as the Golden Eagles head coach. Dunne retires as the winningest head coach in program history, recording 271 career victories. Associate Head Coach Joe Clarke has been named the interim head coach and will take over the reins of the program effective immediately. -

March 30, 2023Dr. Patrick Kraft, Pennsylvania State University vice president for intercollegiate athletics, announced that Mike Rhoades, Lebanon Valley College Class of 1995, is the new head coach of the school's men's basketball program. J.D. Byers '05, Rhoades' longtime assistant, joins him at PSU. Rhoades will be formally introduced in a press conference at 2:30 p.m. this afternoon, which will be broadcast live on the Big Ten Network. -

New Year, Different Result: No. 5 Men’s Basketball Sees Season End at No. 7 Swarthmore in Sweet 16
March 10, 2023SWARTHMORE, Pa. – One of the best seasons in Keene State College men's basketball program history – and a record-breaking one in several categories – came to a sudden end Friday night in the Sweet 16 sectional semifinals of the 2023 NCAA Division III tournament when the fifth-ranked Owls fell to host and No. 7-ranked Swarthmore College 82-58 at Tarble Pavilion. KSC had beaten the Garnet on the same floor a year ago in the first round, but suffered a far different fate this time around, shooting a season-worst 29.9 percent including 25 percent after halftime, and 5-for-26 from three-point range. Swarthmore connected at a much higher 53 percent rate, and because of it advanced to an Elite Eight matchup with Nichols College, who trailed in the second half before going on to pound Stockton University 86-68 in the earlier game. -

How Sweet It Is! Big Second Half Helps No. 5 Owls Oust Tufts, Reach Sweet 16 For Third Time Since 2016
March 05, 2023KEENE, N.H. – If you had plans for next Friday night, you may need to add following the Keene State College men's basketball team to that list for at least the third consecutive weekend. That is because the Owls are once again one of the final 16 teams standing in Division III for fifth time in the last 19 seasons. Behind another sterling performance from star senior forward Jeff Hunter, who scored 17 of his team's 42 points in the second half and posted yet another double-double overall, and a smothering defense that held Tufts University to under 30 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes, KSC pulled out a 77-72 victory in an NCAA tournament second round game held Saturday night at Spaulding Gymnasium. -
