Bison move to 9-0 win win at JWU

Junior DeAnte Bruton poured in a game-high 32 points to lift the Nichols College men's basketball team to an 86-71 win at Johnson & Wales (RI) University Tuesday night in non-conference action in Providence. R.I.
Junior Jerome Cunningham added eight points, 11 board, a career-high nine blocks, and two steals in 35 minutes of action for the Bison, who entered the week No. 18 in this week's Men's poll – the highest ranking in program history. Senior Marcos Echevarria added 18 points and eight rebounds in 40 minutes of action while sophomore Matt Morrow collected 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Justin Bullock dropped in 32 points to go along with 10 rebounds to lead the Wildcats (3-6), who also received 20 points and 12 boards from  Brian Hogan-Gary. The Wildcats secured 30 points from their bench.
The Bison overcame 18 turnovers to win and shot 49 percent from the field and 83 percent from the charity stripe. They outscored the Bison by 12 in the second half and outrebounded JWU 46-42.
Three things you need to know...

-Tonight's contest marked the sixth all-time meeting between Nichols College and Johnson & Wales University and first since December 3, 2000. The Bison now lead the series 5-0, and are 3-0 in Providence.

-With today's win, the Bison moved to 9-0 on the season – the best start in program history.

-Nichols began the day one of nine programs in the Top 25 with an unblemished record.
