Franklin Hosting Rose-Hulman on Wednesday

Franklin, Ind. - The Franklin College men's basketball team continues its Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) home schedule when it hosts Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Wednesday, February 3, at 7:30 p.m. from the Spurlock Center.

Franklin lost a hard-fought 82-80 contest to the Fightin' Engineers in the first meeting between the two schools in December.

Junior Aaron Mann (Indianapolis, Ind./Howe) leads the HCAC in scoring at 21.5 points per game. He is shooting 86.2 percent from the free throw line (106 of 123) and is connecting on 41.1 percent of his three-point field goal attempts on the season. Mann ranks third in the league with seven rebounds per game.

Senior Trae Washington (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) leads the league with 99 assists this winter. The guard is averaging 16.6 points and made 34 three-point field goals for the season.

Junior John Beineke (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) is averaging 10.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest. He is shooting 55.6 percent from the floor and registered a team-high 15 blocks.

Junior Robbie Prather (Franklin, Ind./Roncalli) returned to the lineup in last Saturday's home loss to Earlham College. The guard is scoring 11.4 points per outing. Senior Matt Niehoff (Rushville, Ind./Rushville) rounds out the team's offensive attack at 7.4 points per game.

Rose-Hulman is tied for second place in the HCAC with an 8-4 league record. The team has won four straight games. The Fightin' Engineers improved to 11-8 on the season after a 79-77 win over Bluffton University last Saturday. Matt Loesing leads the team in scoring at 12.1 points per game. The team features five double-figure scorers.
