Baruch Powers Their Way to 77-65 Road Win at John Jay, Team 11-0 in CUNYAC

The Baruch College Bearcats shot 62 percent in the first half and broke open a tie at 43 in the second half with a big run to pull away for a 77-65 conference road win against John Jay College on Tuesday night in New York City.

Chimaechi Ekekeugborled five players in double-figures with 19 points and eight rebounds to keep the team undefeated in conference play (11-0), while also winning for the ninth time in their last 10 games.

Jack Shanahanbroke open a tie at 43 in the second half with a three for a lead the team would not relinquish the rest of the game. The Bloodhounds got as close as one point three different times late in the game, but the Bearcats took control for the double-digit win to go 15-4 overall with six games left in the regular season.

Ryan Markoescored 15 points and Granville Gittenshad 13 points. Bryler Paigeand Shanahan totaled 10 points each in the win at John Jay's Doghouse.

Kris Owens led the hosts with 26 points in the loss.

The men's basketball team will battle third place Lehman on Thursday night in the Battle of Lexington with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm in the ARC Arena.
