St. Mary's City, Md. – Three Seahawks notched double-digit points as the No. 16 St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team posted their eighth consecutive win with a 73-64 non-conference victory over the Fairleigh Dickinson University at Florham Devils Saturday afternoon.

Junior guard Donn Hill (Aberdeen, Md./Bel Air) headlined St. Mary's top scoring trio as Hill repeated his season-high of 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting while adding season-bests of three assists and two blocks.  Junior guard Brendan McFall (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville) followed next with a season-high 15 points and contributed a career-best four steals.

The Seahawks (8-1), who had not played since December 8, fell behind early on in the first half as FDU-Florham owned a 10-5 advantage at 14:35.  St. Mary's quickly responded with a 12-5 run in a seven-minute span to reclaim the lead for the fourth time.  Hill's jumper put the Seahawks ahead for good at 7:37 and then the team continued on to build a double-figure margin with Hill capping off a 35-14 tear with a jumper for a 35-24 lead at 1:27.

In the final 1:16 of the first half, neither team could make a basket and St. Mary's carried an 11-point advantage into the locker room.  Hill paced all players with 10 points while the Seahawks committed only four turnovers and connected on 53.3% of their first half shots.

A scrappy FDU came out of the locker room firing, closing the gap to 35-31 at 18:04 with a 7-0 start to the second stanza.  McFall and senior guard Devin Spencer (Baltimore, Md./Towson Catholic) sparked a 12-3 response to the Devils' run as McFall and Spencer each tallied six points in bolstering the Seahawks' lead to 13 at 13:40.

The Devils (2-6) rallied late in the second half, putting together a 12-4 run in a five-minute span to pull within five with 2:05 remaining on a junior guard Trevor Sykes (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's Boys) three-pointer.  St. Mary's held off FDU by outscoring the Devils 10-6 in the final 56 seconds of the game.

Junior forward Will Green (Cranford, N.J./Cranford) paced FDU with a double-double on 13 points and game-high 11 rebounds.  Green was instrumental in helping the Devils post a 41-26 rebounding edge for the game.  Sykes finished with 18 points while first-year guard Nick Acito (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) added 17 points on 4-of-5 shooting from downtown.

Spencer finished the day with 13 points while senior forward Jeff Haus (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) hauled in eight caroms and contributed six points and two steals.

The Seahawks will return to action next weekend as St. Mary's hosts the Seahawk Holiday Classic on December 29-30, featuring Misericordia University, SUNY Old Westbury, and Swarthmore College.  The Seahawks will take on Swarthmore on the 29th at 4:00 pm before facing Misericordia Sunday at 4:00 pm.
