WALLA WALLA, Wash. -- Seven players scored in double figures as the Whitman College men's basketball team won four of five periods in a 50-minute scrimmage with the UBC-Okanagan Heat Tuesday night in Kelowna, B.C.

The two teams played a series of five 10-minute periods, resetting the score after each session.

The Missionaries won their four periods by scores of 26-15, 23-21, 23-18 and 35-20.
The Heat notched their lone victory by a 17-10 count.
Sophomore guard Josh Duckworth was Whitman's leading scorer with a total of 25 points. Whitman got 18 points apiece from its two seniors, guard Brandow Shaw and forward David Michaels.
Junior wings Ignas Pavilonis and Peter Clark hit for 15 and 14 points, respectively. Pavilonis nailed five 3-pointers while Clark connected four times from long distance.

Whitman also got 13 points from junior forward Drew Raher and 10 more from 6-foot-9 sophomore Ryan Gilkey.
Senior forward D.J. Wright made the scoring column with seven points. Senior J.P. Alvarez and sophomore Jordan Dickson, two more guards, collected two points apiece.
Other statistical information was not available after the scrimmage.
Whitman, in the midst of a five-game, seven-day tour of British Columbia, is off Wednesday but returns to action at 7 p.m. Thursday against the University of British Columbia.
The tour concludes Friday and Saturday with games the University of the Fraser Valley and Vancouver Island University.
Whitman opened its trip on Monday with a 90-67 victory over Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.
