Women's NCAA Tournament bracket is out!

NYU: No. 1 in our poll, No. 2 in NPI, but still the top seed on the right hand side of the bracket.

Here's who's going where when the NCAA Tournament starts on Friday. How did we get all those WIAC teams split up? Spoiler alert: We did not.

Five WIAC teams, five NESCAC teams, three SCAC teams, all made this a challenge to bracket, but the women's committee did what they could with it and turned in a quality bracket. What does this bracket not have? It doesn't have Whitman, No. 5 in NPI, hosting in the first weekend, and that's presumably because they didn't get budget approval for the one extra flight it would have required to bring three teams to Washington. Having that extra flight could have saved having two WIAC teams in the same pod of four, where UW-La Crosse and UW-Whitewater could potentially meet in the second round.

But otherwise, this bracket is really well balanced. The seeding provided by NPI is standing up nicely here. The bracket is balanced well geographically, as much as possible.
