WESTMINSTER, Md. -- McDaniel has announced the hiring of Bob Flynn as the next Green Terror men's head coach. Flynn replaces Jay Dull, who was 22-78 over four seasons.
"I'm very grateful and honored to be chosen as McDaniel's next men's basketball head coach," said Flynn. "I'm thankful to the administration for having the faith in me to lead this program."
The former St. Mary's (Md.) coach compiled a 103-76 record at Baltimore's Cardinal Gibbons high school the past six seasons. Following a season in which his team won 27 games and earned a No. 1 ranking in The (Baltimore) Sun boys' basketball poll, Flynn was selected as head coach of the 2004 McDonald's All-American East Team.
Flynn spent five years at St. Mary's (Md.), compiling a 51-77 overall record from 1994-95 to 1998-99, including 28-24 in his final two seasons.
His first collegiate coaching stint was at his alma mater, Mount St. Mary's, where he was an assistant under under legendary coach Jim Phelan from 1984 to 1994.
