December 8, 2018 #NJCUMBB Withstands Rutgers-Newark on Alumni Day, 71-65 JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University led by 13 at halftime and withstood a comeback bid in the middle of the second half by the current top defensive team in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, holding off Rutgers-Newark, 71-65, on Basketball Alumni Weekend (December 8) at John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (Coach Charlie Brown Court).
December 5, 2018 Montclair Holds Off #NJCUMBB Rally, 81-76 MONTCLAIR, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | In the first meeting this year between the preseason favorite (New Jersey City University) and No. 2 (Montclair State University) ranked teams in the New Jersey Athletic Conference poll, NJCU rallied from an 18-point second half deficit to twice draw within one in the final six minutes but couldn't complete the comeback and fell 81-76 to the Red Hawks on December 5 at Panzer Athletic Center. Both schools were receiving votes in this week's D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
December 3, 2018 No. 24 #NJCUMBB Blows Out Albertus Magnus in Incredible First Half Effort JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | In one of the most impressive first halves played by the New Jersey City University men's basketball team in years, the Gothic Knights held Albertus Magnus College—the nation's No. 11 ranked scoring offense—to just 18 points, went to the locker room leading by 40 (58-18) and cruised to the century mark in the second half on the way to a 104-83 non-conference win on December 3 at John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (Coach Charlie Brown Court). It was the 83rd time in school history NJCU reached 100 on the scoreboard.

(NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Sophomore shooting guard Denzel Banks (Newark, NJ/(East Orange Campus) scored with 2:29 remaining and senior point guard James Richardson (Jersey City, NJ/Snyder) went 4-for-4 from the line in the final 22 seconds to help nationally No. 24 ranked New Jersey City University fend off once-beaten Rowan University 76-68, in New Jersey Athletic Conference action on December 1 at John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (Coach Charlie Brown Court).
November 28, 2018 All-American Sam Toney Reaches 1000-Point Club Before No. 24 #NJCUMBB is Shocked by Hot-Shooting William Paterson WAYNE, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Junior All-American forward Sam Toney (Plainfield, NJ/Williamstown) became the 29th member of the New Jersey City University 1,000-point club midway through the second half but the No. 24 ranked Gothic Knights were outplayed in the second period and shocked by rival William Paterson, 88-72, in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game on November 28 at the William Paterson Rec Center.
November 26, 2018 NJCU's Denzel Banks Named NJAC Player of the Week PITMAN, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | No. 16 ranked New Jersey City University won twice last week—its third and fourth wins in a row—and sophomore shooting guard Denzel Banks (Newark, NJ/(East Orange Campus) had the biggest impact for the Gothic Knights. After scoring 38 points in only 35 minutes of action over two games, Banks has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week for week three of the 2018 season, the league office announced on November 26.
