January 19, 2019 In First-Place/Second-Place Matchup, 18-1 Rowan Run Erases #NJCUMBB Lead GLASSBORO, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | In a matchup of the first and second place squads in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, the first place New Jersey City University men's basketball team lead by 13 at halftime and continued to hold a 46-33 edge with 16:44 remaining. But upstart Rowan University used an 18-1 run over the next 4:35 to take the lead and would not relinquish it in a tight contest that was possession to possession for the rest of the game to escape with an 84-80 win on January 19 at Esby Gymnasium. Rowan never led by more than seven points at any juncture in the second half.

(NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The New Jersey City University men's basketball team led by just three at halftime before outscoring Rutgers University-Camden by a 51-30 margin in the second half and cruised to an 81-57 New Jersey Athletic Conference road victory on January 12.
January 9, 2019 #NJCUMBB Improves to 6-2 in NJAC, Blowing By 2-Time Defending NJAC Champ Ramapo JERSEY CITY, N.J. (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | The New Jersey City University men's basketball team used a 20-5 first half run to seize control, and made a statement when it led by as many as 27 points late in the second half before defeating two-time defending New Jersey Athletic Conference champion Ramapo, 86-71, in league action on January 9 at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (Coach Charlie Brown Court).

(NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University junior preseason First-Team All-American Sam Toney (Plainfield, NJ/Williamstown), the reigning New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Year, has been selected New Jersey Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the first time this season. The accolade is for week nine of the 2018-19 season, the league office announced on January 7.
