(NJCUGothicKnights.com) | In what will be the final home game of their Gothic Knight careers, the four seniors from the New Jersey City University women’s basketball team (5-19, 2-15 NJAC) all scored in double figures in a record-setting 83-66 New Jersey Athletic Conference win over Rutgers-Camden (14-10, 9-8 NJAC) on NJCU’s 2019 Senior Day on February 9 at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (Coach Charlie Brown Court). NJCU crushed two school records—hitting 12 three-pointers while shooting an unconscious 70.6 percent (12-17) from three-point range.

Stockton University limited NJCU to 27.0 percent shooting and used a balanced offensive attack to pull out a 61-46 victory New Jersey Athletic Conference win at the Stockton Sports Center on February 2.

(NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Montclair State University (13-8, 9-5 NJAC) came in with a clear game plan against the New Jersey City University women's basketball team in their New Jersey Athletic Conference showdown at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center on January 30: Limit Marajiah Bacon (Neptune, NJ/Neptune), and use their size to their advantage. The six-time defending NJAC champions executed their plan to perfection, holding Bacon, tied as the leading scorer in the country coming into the game, to just 11 points, while out-rebounding the Knights 53-27 in a 62-43 Red Hawk victory.

Just a week after falling by seven against first place Rowan, the Gothic Knights held their own against second place Rutgers-Newark (12-7, 9-3 NJAC) on January 26, falling by a final score of 56-51 at the Golden Dome.

(NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University senior point guard Marajiah Bacon (Neptune, NJ/Neptune) now stands alone as the greatest scorer in the history of women's basketball in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. With 1:03 remaining in the third quarter of a fittingly closely-contested, road conference matchup against the top team in the league, Bacon hit a 25-foot three-pointer from right in front of her own bench for her 2,048th, 2,049th and 2,050th points—passing William Paterson's Michelle Jones who scored 2,048 points from 1987-91.

Moore Athletics and Fitness Center.

It was the final non-conference game of the season for NJCU and played on Coach Charlie Brown Court at the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center on January 14.

(NJCUGothicKnights.com) | Less than 48 hours after Marajiah Bacon (Neptune, NJ/Neptune) of the New Jersey City University women's basketball team (4-11, 1-8 NJAC) was able to set the single-game school record with 46 points against Pratt Institute, the Scarlet Raptors of Rutgers-Camden (9-6, 5-4 NJAC) were able to limit Bacon to a season-low 14 points, topping the Gothic Knights by a final score of 79-60 in the process. NJCU was playing for the third time in four days.
