Senior forward Ryan Boll had 28 points and 14 rebounds for his eight career double double to lead the host Tommies (3-1 overall, 1-0 MIAC) to an 80-71 defeat of Concordia-Moorhead (2-3, 0-2) in Wednesday night's MIAC men's basketball play at Schoenecker Arena.
The Tommies had only six turnovers, shot 48 percent from the floor, used a 46-20 advantage in bench points, and rallied from deficits in each half.
Boll's 3-point basket at the buzzer capped a 13-2 run and let St. Thomas take a 37-32 halftime lead.
The Cobbers fell behind 40-32 but used a 14-4 run of their own to lead 46-44 with 15:29 to play.
But Boll put the Toms ahead to stay with another 3-point basket that started a 10-0 run. Concordia never got closer than eight points the rest of the game.
Austin Heins had 21 points and eight rebounds to lead Concordia, which shot 53 percent from the field but recorded 15 turnovers.
Sophomore forward Elijah Hannah had 11 of his 16 points in the second half, and freshman guard Burt Hedstrom scored 14 for the Tommies.
