The scoop on our honorees: Amy Cooke had an all-around good week for Salisbury State. The junior guard averaged 19.5 points per game, but added 4.5 steals and 8.0 assists for the Sea Gulls, shooting 4-for-5 from three-point range. University of Dallas guard Delilah Wisenhunt averaged 26 points in two games for the Crusaders, adding 4.5 assists, 4.5 steals and four rebounds.
Senior forward Tanya Cole totaled 43 points and 11 rebounds during Blackburn wins over Westminster and MacMurray. She was 16-for-31 from the floor and 6-for-9 from three-point range, recording eight assists, two blocks and two steals. Center Laura Haynes shot 33-for-40 from the floor in three Guilford victories, averaging 28.7 points and 6.7 steals. The senior shot 14-for-16 against Lynchburg en route to 29 points and had a career-high eight steals against Eastern Mennonite. Austin senior Mark Kellogg shot well from everywhere: 19-for-29 from the floor, 12-for-17 from three-point range and 12-for-12 from the free-throw line. He averaged 31.5 points per game in two Kangaroos victories, adding four assists and four rebounds. And he scored those 63 points in just 58 minutes of action. Sophomore guard Josh Estelle helped lead Wabash to two wins. Estelle scored 21 points and hit a three-pointer with 1.3 seconds left to help the Little Giants beat Rose-Hulman 73-70, then added 33 points against Franklin. Estelle averaged 27 points for the week, shooting 63% from the floor and 55% from three-point range while adding eight assists and only turning the ball over three times in 73 minutes. Williams senior forward Michael Nogelo scored 25.6 points per game and averaged 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Nogelo netted 31 in a 77-61 win at Bowdoin and 27 in a come-from-behind win at Colby in key NESCAC conference games. Millikin freshman Brad Skowronski averaged 25.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals. The forward scored 24 points and added 11 rebounds against Illinois Wesleyan. Nazareth senior center Chris Pegan broke the school scoring record and is one ahead of teammate Zach Wein with 1,614. Pegan scored 51 points over two games, shooting 19-for-29 from the floor and 13-for-13 from the foul line and adding three blocked shots. |
