Bowdoin 64, Springfield 50

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Bowdoin junior guard Lora Trinkle scored a game-high 22 points and gathered nine boards lifting the Polar Bears past Springfield College, 64-50, in the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Northeast Regional Semifinals at Blake Arena.

Bowdoin, which improves to 26-1 and has won 11 straight games, advances to the regional final for the first time in school history. The Polar Bears face St. Lawrence in Saturday's regional final at 5 p.m. in Blake Arena. St. Lawrence (26-3) edged Ohio Wesleyan 57-56 in the first semifinal.

Junior guard Carah Dawe led Springfield with 11 points and five rebounds. The Pride wrapped up the season with a 25-4 mark, a school record for victories, but saw its school-record 17 game-winning streak come to an end.

After Springfield senior guard Kristy Murray's lay-up with 2:49 to play pulled the Pride within three (50-47), Trinkle, the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Year, buried a 3-pointer to give the Polar Bears an
insurmountable 53-47 lead.
