February 27, 2018 Jostens Trophy finalists announced The Salem Rotary Club announced the 20 finalists for Division III's premier award recognizing excellence on and off the court. The men's and women's award winner will be introduced on Thursday, March 15.
February 14, 2018 Wheaton (Ill.) clinches bid to CCIW Tournament with an 85-77 victory over Carthage Wheaton, Ill. - After a three-year hiatus, the Thunder men's basketball team will be returning to the CCIW Tournament. Wheaton punched its ticket on Wednesday night with a gritty 85-77 victory over Carthage to improve to 17-6 overall. The victory pulls Wheaton even with Augustana at 10-4 in the CCIW with each team still one game behind Illinois Wesleyan in the team standings. The loss drops Carthage to 12-11 overall and 7-7 in the CCIW. Wheaton will play its last home game of the regular season on Saturday night, when the Thunder play host to North Central at 7 pm.
February 10, 2018 Francis, Samuelson lead Wheaton (Ill.) to 95-53 rout at North Park Chicago, Ill. - The Thunder men's basketball team rode a hot-shooting second half to a 95-53 rout of North Park on Saturday night. The victory moves Wheaton to 16-6 overall and 9-4 in CCIW play while the Vikings fall ot 5-17 and 1-12 in conference action. The victory sets up a crucial week of home games for the Thunder with Wheaton set to host Carthage at 7 pm in Wednesday night and North Central at 7 pm on Saturday night as the Thunder battle both teams for a spot in the upcoming CCIW Tournament.
February 7, 2018 Wednesday men: Top teams win, ODAC aside Most of the teams that were high in Wednesday's first men's regional rankings ended up on the high side of the scoreboard as well, although it was not unanimous. February 7, 2018 Wheaton (Illl.) upsets #17-Illinois Wesleyan with 107-95 victory on the road Bloomington, Ill. - The Thunder men's basketball team avenged an earlier loss at the buzzer on Wednesday night with a 107-95 victory at Illinois Wesleyan. The Titans, ranked 17th in the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, had knocked off Wheaton with a buzzer-beating three-pointer at King Arena in December. With the victory, Wheaton pulls within a game of the CCIW-leading Titans at 8-4 in the CCIW and 15-6 overall. The Titans fall to 16-5 overall and 9-3 in the conference, one game ahead of Wheaton, Augustana, and North Central. Wheaton will be back in action on Saturday when the Thunder travel to North Park for a 7 pm tip-off against the Vikings in Chicago.
