March 2, 2018 Marymount Comes From Behind to Defeat MIT, 58-54, in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament Marymount University outscored MIT, 21-13, in the fourth quarter to come from behind and defeat the Engineers, 58-54, in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament on Friday. Junior Taylor V'Dovec (Blaine, Wash.) hauled in a game-high 13 rebounds while scoring a team-high 14 points in MIT's first NCAA Tournament appearance.
February 25, 2018 MIT Women's Basketball Defeats WPI, 54-50, to Capture First NEWMAC Championship Four free throws during the final 24 seconds of regulation helped the No. 5 seeded MIT women's basketball team defeat No. 2 WPI, 54-40, and capture the program's first NEWMAC Championship on Sunday. Junior Kara Holinski (Livonia, Mich.) was named the Tournament Most Outstanding Player for her play throughout the tournament.
February 24, 2018 Fourth Quarter Run Propels MIT Past Smith, 64-51, and into NEWMAC Women's Basketball Title Game No. 5 seeded MIT generated 10 unanswered points during the first 5:23 of the fourth quarter to pull away and defeat top-seeded Smith College, 64-51, in the semifinals of the NEWMAC Women's Basketball Tournament on Saturday. The victory puts the Engineers in the championship game for the first time in program history.
February 21, 2018 MIT Defeats Springfield, 66-55, to Advance to NEWMAC Women’s Basketball Tournament Semifinals Behind a career and game-high 26 points from junior Dolly Yuan (San Jose, Calif.), the No. 5 seeded MIT women’s basketball team defeated No. 4 Springfield College, 66-55, in the quarterfinals of the NEWMAC Tournament on Wednesday. With the victory, the Engineers secured a spot in the semifinals for the fifth time in program history and first since 2003.
February 16, 2017 MIT women take a stand President Donald Trump's executive order on immigration had an immediate impact on five members of the MIT community who were denied re-entry into the country in late January. January 9, 2014 MIT Stuns Undefeated No. 22 Wheaton, 60-59 NORTON, Mass. – For the first time in program history, the MIT women’s basketball team defeated a nationally-ranked opponent as it edged out No. 22 Wheaton College, 60-59, in a NEWMAC contest on Thursday night. Junior Mari Kordell (Ijamsville, Md.) paced the Engineers (6-6, 3-4 NEWMAC) with 17 points and added four assists and four rebounds in handing the Lyons (12-1, 7-1 NEWMAC) their first loss of the season.
