January 17, 2018 No. 10/12 CNU Women's Basketball Blisters Mary Washington in CAC Action, 98-43 NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Guard play dominated the action for the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team on Wednesday night, as the Captains (14-2, 8-1) put together one of it's most impressive performances of the season in a 98-43 win over Mary Washington (7-9, 6-3). Four CNU guards finished in double figures, and two flirted with double-doubles as the Captains ran their home win streak to 11 games. 
January 13, 2018 No. 13 CNU Women's Basketball Holds On for 75-72 Win at York College of Pennsylvania YORK, Pa. -- The 11th-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team led by 20 points early in the fourth quarter, but a late rally by York College of Pennsylvania erased the lead and forced the Captains to narrowly escape the road conference game with a 75-72 win. The Captains improved to 13-2 overall, 7-1 in league play, after holding off the frantic comeback attempt by the home team. 
January 10, 2018 Christopher Newport Women's Basketball Nets 92-57 Win on the Road at Southern Virginia BUENA VISTA, Va. -- Behind yet another sweltering defensive effort, the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team ran away with a bounce-back conference victory on Wednesday night, defeating Southern Virginia University on the road, 92-57. The Captains (12-2, 6-1) forced a season-high 52 turnovers and grabbed 28 steals in dropping the Knights to 8-5 overall, and 2-5 in league play.
January 3, 2018 No. 3 Captains Tame Lions in First Game of 2018 in Return to CAC Action, 86-40 NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team opened up a 36-2 lead in the first 14 minutes against Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday evening, cruising to a wire-to-wire win over their conference foes, 86-40.
December 31, 2017 No. 2 Captains Reel In Marlins for Final Win of 2017; Wrap Up Non-Conference Play with 90-55 Win VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.  -- The non-conference finale and last game of the 2017 calendar year for the second-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team saw the Captains improve to 10-1 with a 90-55 victory over Virginia Wesleyan University (3-8). It was the first time this season the Captains' eclipsed 90 points in a game, and the team did so with only two players in double figures.
December 21, 2017 Dominant Second Half Leads No. 2 CNU Women's Basketball Past Willamette, 83-51 HONOLULU, Hawaii -- One day after dropping their first game of the season, the second-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team bounced back with an impressive offensive efffort against Willamette University (4-6) in the Hoop N' Surf Christmas Classic. The Captains scored 58 points in the paint and put together a dominant second half en route to an 83-51 victory over the Bearcats.
