December 6, 2017 No. 2/3 CNU Women's Basketball Sails to 73-42 Win at St. Mary's (Md.) in CAC Action ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. -- In an impressive display of rebounding dominance, the nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team cruised to it's seventh straight win to open the season with a 73-42 road victory at St. Mary's College of Maryland on Wednesday night. The Captains (7-0, 3-0) outrebounded the Seahawks 58-33 including 31 offensive boards while dropping the home team to 2-4 overall, 0-3 in league play. 
December 2, 2017 Porter Joins 1,000-Point Club as Nationally-Ranked Captains Cruise to 88-32 Win Over Frostburg State NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- With a free-throw in the fourth quarter, Christopher Newport University senior Sam Porter became the 27th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points as the nationally-ranked Captains ran away with an 88-32 win over Frostburg State on Saturday afternoon. The CNU defense stifled the Bobcats in front of nearly 400 fans at the Freeman Center as the Captains improved to 6-0 overall, 2-0 in conference play.
November 29, 2017 No. 2/3 CNU Women's Hoops Opens Capital Athletic Conference Action With 67-52 Win Over Salisbury NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- Four Captains finished in double figures and junior Jessica Daguilh picked up her first double-double of the season as nationally-ranked Christopher Newport women's hoops opened Capital Athletic Conference action with a 67-52 win over Salisbury University on Wednesday night. The Captains (5-0,1 -0) shook off a slow start and rolled to the win over the Sea Gulls (3-3, 0-1) in front of just under 500 fans at the Freeman Center.
November 21, 2017 No. 2/4 Captains Improve to 4-0 With 70-55 Win at Methodist University FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Sophomore Erin Carroll registered a career-high 11 points and junior point guard Zhara Tannor added a team-high 14 points to lead the fourth-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team to a 70-55 win at Methodist on Tuesday night. The Captains improved to 4-0 with the non-conference victory headed into a long Thanksgiving break for the team. 
November 18, 2017 No. 4 CNU Women's Hoops Downs Host McDaniel in Tip-Off Tournament Title Game, 71-61 WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Behind the first career double-double from senior Jasmine Bonivel, the fourth-ranked Christopher Newport women's basketball team won, 71-61, over host McDaniel College to capture the 2017 McDaniel Tip-Off Tournament title on Saturday evening in front of nearly 400 fans at the Gill Center. Bonivel scored 13 points and added a career-high 11 rebounds to lead the Captains (3-0) off the bench.
