March 14, 2017 Murphy, Blackledge win Jostens Trophy A day after being named Great Lakes Region Players of the Year, Lisa Murphy of Carnegie Mellon and Harrison Blackledge of Hope were named the 2017 Jostens Trophy winners. The Jostens Trophy recognizes excellence in athletics, academics and community service.
March 13, 2017 D3hoops.com 2016-17 women's All-Great Lakes Region team With a shooting percentage that looks like a misprint, Lisa Murphy is our Great Lakes Region Player of the Year. Michelle Durand takes home the Great Lakes Coach of the Year honor and Sadia Johnson of Adrian is the Great Lakes Rookie of the Year.
March 5, 2017 Tartans Complete Season with 80-69 Win for ECAC Championship Title The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team completed the 2016-2017 season with a win Sunday, March 5 in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship presented by Visit Myrtle Beach. The Tartans, who hosted the tournament, topped Waynesburg University in the final, 80-69. With the victory, the Tartans won their second ECAC Championship in program history and tied the school record for wins in a season with 21.
March 4, 2017 Team Effort Propels Tartans to ECAC Championship Final The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team shared the ball and locked down on defense in its Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship Semifinal victory against Stevenson University on Saturday, March 4. The Tartans topped the Mustangs, 65-50, to advance to the championship final to be played Sunday on its home court in Pittsburgh. The tournament is presented by Visit Myrtle Beach.
March 3, 2017 Tartans Advance to ECAC Semifinal with 84-59 Win The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team shot 49.2% to top Brooklyn College, 84-59, in its first game of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's Basketball Championship presented by Visit Myrtle Beach on Friday, March 3. The Tartans are serving as host and advance to the semifinals and now have a season record of 19-7.
