February 19, 2017 Carnegie Mellon's Murphy Sets Single-Season School Rebound Mark in 82-60 Win at Emory The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to play the Eagles of Emory University and came away with an 82-60 victory on Sunday, February 19. Senior Lisa Murphy continues to put her name in the school's record book, as she became Carnegie Mellon's single-season rebound leader after collecting 15 off the glass. Murphy now has 305 for the season and passes Amy Buxbaum's (90-91) mark of 304.
February 17, 2017 Four Tartans Score in Double Figures in Setback at Rochester he Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team traveled to Rochester, New York, to play the Yellowjackets of the University of Rochester on Friday, February 17 and dropped an 86-79 University Athletic Association (UAA) contest. Carnegie Mellon is now 16-7 and 5-7 in UAA play while Rochester moves to 16-7 and 7-5.
February 12, 2017 Tartans Drop Home Contest to NYU, 66-51 The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team dropped a home contest to New York University, 66-51, on Sunday, February 12. The Tartans are now 16-6 overall and 5-6 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) while the Violets improve to 13-9 and 3-8.
February 10, 2017 Tartans End Skid with 74-56 Victory Against Brandeis; Murphy Sets Career UAA Scoring Record The Carnegie Mellon University women's basketball team hosted Brandeis University in University Athletic Association (UAA) action on Friday, February 10 and ended a four-game skid with a 74-56 win to move to 16-5 on the year and 5-5 in the UAA. The Judges fell to 11-10 and 3-7. By scoring 22 points, senior Lisa Murphy (McLean, Va./McLean) became the UAA's all-time leading scorer, passing Marsha Harris (1994-1998) of NYU. Murphy now has 2,142 career points.
February 5, 2017 #20 Tartans Fall to Chicago on the Road The Carnegie Mellon University women’s basketball team faced the University of Chicago on the road Sunday, February 5. The 20th-ranked Tartans fell to the Maroons, 88-39, to move to 15-5 on the year and 4-5 in the University Athletic Association (UAA).
February 3, 2017 Second-Half Comeback Falls Short for No. 20 Tartans at No. 9 Washington U. The Carnegie Mellon University women’s basketball team traveled to St. Louis, Missouri, to face the Washington University Bears on Friday, February 3. The Bears, ranked ninth in the nation by D3hoops.com, defended their home court with a 79-69 victory over the 20th-ranked Tartans. The Tartans are now 15-4 overall and 4-4 in the University Athletic Association (UAA) while the Bears move to 17-2 and 6-2.
