February 6, 2017 New women's Top 25 released For the first time since late February 2012, Amherst is ranked No. 1 in the country. St. Thomas sits second with Tufts, Thomas More and ONU rounding out the top five. Trine and George Fox re-enter the rankings at the bottom of the poll.
February 4, 2017 Saturday women: Wait, is that a final? One of the most anticipated games of the season will also be one of the lowest scoring games. No. 2 Amherst beat No. 1 Tufts 36-35 to make its claim to move atop the national rankings. Meanwhile Trinity (Texas) earned a split with Texas Lutheran and Stout stunned Whitewater.
February 4, 2017 No. 2/2 Women’s Basketball Edges No. 1/1 Tufts, 36-35 Hannah Hackley '18 converted a three-point play with 1:18 on the clock, and Jaimie Renner '17 forced a turnover with one second remaining in the contest to help lift the No. 2/2 Amherst College women's basketball team to a thrilling, 36-35 NESCAC victory over No. 1/1 Tufts University Saturday afternoon at Cousens Gymnasium in Medford, Mass.
January 20, 2017 Strong First Half Lifts No. 2/2 Women’s Basketball Over Bowdoin, 66-45 The No. 2/2 Amherst College women's basketball team used a game-high 15-point effort from Ali Doswell '17, and the Purple & White held a commanding, 42-18 advantage at intermission en route to a 66-45 win over Bowdoin College in Friday evening's NESCAC contest in Brunswick, Maine.
