Roger Williams 2011-12 women's basketball preview
BRISTOL, R.I. – The Roger Williams University Women's Basketball Team's 2011-2012 preview video is now available on YouTube.
The Hawks were picked to finish third in the Commonwealth Coast Conference's Preseason Poll. The team looks to contend in this year's CCC Championship race, after finishing with an 8-5 conference record. The Hawks return many key players in this upcoming season, including junior forward Alexandria Lanieri (Port Jefferson, N.Y.), sophomore guard Kaitlyn Bovee (Berlin, Conn.), and junior guard Elizabeth Kilzi (Waverly, Pa.). Lanieri was a 2010-11 CCC third team selection, averaging 12.4 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game. Bovee was selected as the 2010-11 CCC Rookie of the Year and complied 10.2 points per game and a free throw percentage of .841, which was good for fourth in the CCC. Kilzi comes back this season after averaging 9.5 points per game last season.
The Hawks open their season at Wheaton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011.
