Cal Lutheran will represent the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) after winning the league tournament on Saturday. The Regals took out the top two seeds on the road in No. 1 Occidental on Thursday, and No. 2 Redlands on Saturday to earn its spot.
Of the 42 Division III conference post-season tournaments taking place around the nation, Cal Lutheran was the only No. 4 seed to win and earn an automatic qualifying spot for this year's "March Madness."
The 64-team field will consist of the 43 schools that earned the automatic berth representing their respective conferences. To view the list of conference champions, click here. In addition, one "Pool B" team not in those conferences and 20 at-large or "Pool C" squads will make up the field.
Cal Lutheran will be making its seventh overall appearance in the Division III NCAA Tournament, and first since 2006. The Regals lone victory was an opening round 72-66 road win over UC San Diego back in 2000. All eight contests have been on the road including seven true road games.
