Cyclones Continue To Roll; 5-0 On Season

La PLUME, Pa.(November 30, 2011) – The Centenary women's basketball team opened the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) schedule by defeating the Keystone College Giants 67-45, keeping the Cyclones record unblemished.

The Cyclones continued the trend of having a new standout performer in every game, while receiving solid contributions from everyone on the roster versus the Giants. Senior Bridget McCann (Keyport, N.J./Keyport) shot 4-5 from the field and added two free throws to lead the team in points along with senior Jen Vasta (Boonton, N.J./Boonton) with ten. McCann added six rebounds and a block to help lock up the Cyclones first CSAC win of the2011-12 season.

Centenary shot over 58 percent in the second half while holding Keystone to just 32 percent in the half and under 30 percent for the game to expand a 29-23 lead at the half to the eventual 67-45 outcome. Junior Kellie Rose (Jackson, N.J./Jackson Memorial) and sophomore Melissa Kukoda (Spotswood, N.J./Spotswood) each went 2-3 from three point range with eight points in the Cyclones effort.

The win moves the Cyclones record to 5-0 on the season and 1-0 in CSAC play. Centenary is in action next on Saturday, Dec. 3 as the Cyclones play host to conference foe Immaculata University
