Bateman Placed on Pro Rehab – Hubbard Co. All-Tourney Team

DEFIANCE, Ohio – After posting 18.5 points per game over the weekend, and notching a career-high 23 points in the Lady Jackets' victory over Brescia University on Saturday, Molly Bateman was selected as DC's sole representative on the Pro Rehab – Hubbard Co. All-Tournament Team.

The strong weekend was a continuation of what has been an outstanding start to Bateman's senior campaign. She was inserted into the starting lineup after posting 17 points in DC's win over Anderson on Dec. 1, and has flourished ever since, averaging 15.2 points per game during her current six-game streak of double-digit scoring outputs.  

Bateman was at her best as the Yellow Jackets posted a season-high 56 second-half points to hold off Brescia in Saturday's Pro Rehab – Hubbard Co. Tournament Consolation Match. The senior guard led Defiance with 19 second-half points on seven-of-10 shooting, including five-of-six from long range, in just 15 minutes of action.  

The Yellow Jackets will finish off their non-conference schedule with a match at The College of Wooster on Thursday, Dec. 30, before getting into the meat of their schedule with 14-consecutive conference matches beginning on Jan. 5, 2011.
