Defiance's Tasha Stucke Goes Beyond the Box Score

20 Questions With Tasha Stucke

1-When did you start playing basketball? I started playing basketball in second grade. Mostly unorganized then, but by third grade, we had programs. 

2-What has been the highlight of your athletic career so far? I would have to say going to the NCAA Division III Regionals for softball my first two years here at Defiance.

3-What are your goals for the 2010-2011 season? I want the team to have a family chemistry and to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship.

4-Who is your funniest teammate? I would have to say Courtney Schmersal because she is always saying something out of the ordinary.

5-Do you have any nicknames? Some people call me "Stook" or "Washa" but most just stick with my real name.

6-What three words best describe you? Driven, kind, trustworthy.

7-What is your favorite restaurant? I just love Chili's.

8-Who is your biggest hero? I would have to say my parents because they have supported me through everything that I have done. They also raised me to be a good person and have given me many things to be thankful for.

9-Dream vacation spot? I have always wanted to go to Australia.

10-What is the top song currently on your iPod? "Roll With It" by Easton Corbin.

11-Who was your childhood sports hero? Michael Jordan, definitely. 

12-Do you have any superstitions or pre-game routines? On the bus rides to the game, I try to listen to the same list of songs before we get there.

13-If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be? I would say Nicole Diers or Katie Bowman because I would like to know what it is like to be an art student for a day.
 
14-What is your favorite TV show? "That 70's Show".

15-What is something most people do not know about you? I love animals, especially my new dog Jetta.

16-What is your biggest fear? Losing someone I love.

17-Besides your own, what is your favorite sport to watch at Defiance? Soccer.

18-What is your favorite class or professor at DC and why? Dr. Sandra Golden is my favorite professor because she is always around and willing to help out her students. She also makes all of her classes interesting.

19-What are your plans after graduating from DC? I am hoping to get a teaching job in a rural area and coach either softball or basketball.

20-How has playing collegiate athletics at DC helped you in life? Playing collegiate athletics has helped me become more responsible for myself and has also shown me how to deal with difficult situations. I have met so many great people and they have all taught me so many things about life that I will take with me forever.
