Williams, Anthony wrap up time at Four Nations Cup

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College senior Jerald Williams (Riverdale, Md./Bladensburg) and junior Kevin Anthony (Columbus, Ohio/Bridgton Academy) wrapped up their time at the Four Nations Cup with the East Coast All Stars on Tuesday, July 31, as the team finished 1-2 in the four team tournament, which also featured the national teams of the Czech Republic, Georgia and Estonia.
 
The tournament, played in Talinn, Estonia, at the 7,200-seat Saku Suurhall Arena, was won by the Czech Republic, which finished a perfect 3-0. All three other teams went 1-2 overall. Estonia's Siim-Sander Vene was named the tournament's MVP after averaging 24.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists in the three games.  Duke's Quinn Cook was named the East Coast All Star's best player in the tournament.
 
Williams served as a back-up point guard for the All Stars on a team that also featured players from Stanford, Iowa, West Virginia, Xavier and Maryland. He finished the tournament by averaging 2.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.7 steals in 15 minutes per game. He had a solid opening performance against the Czech Republic, posting five points, six rebounds and three steals. He followed that with five assists and a steal in 14 minutes to help the All Stars to a 129-124 double-overtime win against Georgia. Against Estonia, Williams had one point, two assists and a steal.   
 
Anthony also saw about 15 minutes of court time per game, averaging 3.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 1.3 steals per game. After posting two points and two steals against the Czech Republic, he posted five points and one rebounds in the win over Georgia. He wrapped up the tournament with four points, two assists and two steals against Estonia.
 
Each summer since 2006, Rancourt has coached the East Coast All-Stars on a tour of Europe, playing against several national and professional teams. During the tour, Rancourt has coached players from Kentucky, Drake, Notre Dame, St. John's, Syracuse, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas State, Arkansas, Purdue, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Texas A&M, George Washington, Michigan, Maryland and Rutgers. In 2009, the all-stars finished the five-game tour with a 4-0-1 record.
 
The Lycoming men's basketball team finished 19-8 in 2011-12, reaching the Commonwealth Conference finals for the third time in five years.
 
The Warriors open their 2012-13 season with the Tip-Off Tournament on Friday, Nov. 16, when they take on Penn State Wilkes-Barre at 8 p.m.
