Edgewood College ready for first NCAA Tournament since 2005
Edgewood College reached the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2005 with an exciting win over Lakeland in the NAC championship game. The Eagles get the challenge of facing WIAC Tournament champion UW-River Falls in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
UW-River Falls is hoping to provide a videocast of all games via D3Hoops.com. If they are unable to do so, then Edgewood College will provide an audio-only webcast with Barry Adams on the call. In either case, links for all broadcast coverage including live stats can be found on EdgewoodCollegeEagles.com.
Edgewood College has squared off with UW-River Falls four times in history with the series history tied a two apiece. The Falcons took the first two games before the Eagles won back-to-back games in 1992 and 1994. The Eagles are 1-1 in road games against River Falls, last winning 96-82 in 1992.
The only time Edgewood College has played Gustavus Adolphus College was in the 2002 NCAA Tournament. The Golden Gusties came away with a 74-65 home win. Edgewood College has never played Wheaton College (Ill.) in men's basketball.
