men's basketball tournament

It's the first national championship for the Northeast region and the first for Williams in three trips to Salem.
Williams (31-1) took its first lead with 48 seconds remaining, battling back from a eight-point second-half deficit and finishing the game on a 12-2 run.
Folan sparked the run with a pair of free throws and a fast-break layup to cut the Gusties' lead to 63-60. Benjamin Coffin hit one of two foul shots to make it a one point game, then Folan added a 3-pointer from the near win to give Williams a 64-63 lead.
Derek Nelson's layup gave Gustavus (26-7) a 65-64 lead, but Coffin answered with one free throw to tie the game with 4.6 seconds left, then Folan rebounded Coffin's miss and drew a touch foul, hitting both free throws. Folan clinched the game by stealing the long inbounds pass and throwing it to the ceiling, and was mobbed on the baseline in celebration. The full story.

After more than a week since the Ephs won their first national title, there's been no reception, no pep rally and no team party on campus.
Why? Williams is still on spring break, and will be through the first week of April. Meanwhile, the program is left to ponder a pile of memories from a great weekend in Salem.
