Carthage 85, Lewis & Clark 70
KENOSHA, Wis. — For the second consecutive season, the Lewis & Clark men's basketball season ended in the NCAA Division III Sectional on the floor of the No. 1 ranked team in the country. This time, Carthage defeated the Pioneers 85-70, ending the season for the Pios with a school record 24 wins with only six losses.

Carthage started quickly, opening a 10-1 lead in the first three minutes of the game. L&C battled back and took the lead 21-20 with just over five minutes remaining in the first half. The Redmen answered and led 37-34 at the intermission.

The second half started much like the first, with Carthage opening up a 14-point spread at the 14 minute mark. Again the Pioneers responded, cutting the lead to five, 73-68, with at the three minute mark. It was not to be, however, as the Redmen ended the game on a 12-2 run, most of those coming from the free-throw line.

For the game, L&C hit 48% from the floor, but only managed 30% from behind the 3-point arc. Carthage shot 58% and outrebounded the Pios 36-25.
