& Clark 79, UW-Oshkosh 71 The victory was a school-record 24th for the Pioneers on the season. It was also the 399th career victory for head coach Bob Gaillard. The Pioneers opened the game with a 5-0 run and were never bested in the game by the Titans. Oshkosh did tie the score once, 49-49, with just over 13 minutes remaining in the game. The Pios responded with a 9-2 spurt and never looked back. Scott Davis continued his outstanding run in the NCAA Tournament with 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Kristofer Speier looked like he never injured his knee midway through the season as he hit all eight of his field goals on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds. Colin Oriard chipped in with 14 points, six rebounds and a team-high six assists. Danny Winchester added 11 points. The Pioneer defense shut down Titan All-American Tim Dworak. He did manage 15 points, but was held scoreless the final 15 minutes. Nick Scherer led the way for Oshkosh with 17. Andy Fernholz added 11 points. For the game, L&C shot 53% from the floor and outrebounded UW-O 34-27. |
