Maryville (Tenn.) 70, Webster 45
MARYVILLE, Tenn. — The Maryville men's basketball team defeated Webster 70-45 in front of a crowd of 450 at Maryville's Cooper Athletic Center.

A thunderous dunk from Maryville's Matt Ennen energized the crowd and the Fighting Scots to take a demanding 25-8 lead. Maryville's defensive intensity allowed the Gorloks a 34% shooting percentage and only 19 first-half points.

When the Scots (25-4) were not entering the ball into the post, the Scots' perimeter knocked down 54% of their 3-point attempts in he first half.

Maryville was led by Matt Ennen's 19 points. Sidney Ellis and Shawn Henderson added 11 and 10 points respectively from the perimeter. Senior Kris Sigmund attacked the boards with 10 rebounds.

The Gorloks were led by Brady Barke's 14 points. Nate Hawthrone, while guarding MC's Ennen, still provided Webster (13-13) with 11 points.

Maryville will travel to St. Louis to play Washington U. in a second round NCAA matchup.
