Cabrini 85, Kings Point 73
KINGS POINT, N.Y. — Cabrini avenged a first-round home NCAA Tournament loss to Kings Point from last season by beating the Mariners 85-73 in a first-round NCAA Tournament game.

Cabrini led 42-38 at the intermission before the Blue and Gray tied the game at 60-60 at 8:34 on a pair of free throws from sophomore Gabe Whitney. The Cavaliers (18-11), which got a game-high 22 points from point guard Kris Pittman, responded with a 7-1 run and never trailed again.

The win ended Kings Point's 27-game home winning streak.

Kings Point (24-5) couldn't seem to find its shooting groove during the game. The Mariners were 23-for-71 from the field (32.4%), 11-for-31 from 3-point range (35.5%), and 16-for-27 from the line (59.3%). Cabrini nailed 50% of their shots from the field.

The Mariners saw five players hit double-figure scoring. Freshman Josh Buck and senior Kevin Bernick each scored 14. Whitney had 13 and senior Nate Barton and sophomore Mark Medvetz each contributed 10. Whitney was the game's leading rebounder with 10 while Buck added eight boards.
