In one of the most thrilling Final Fours in recent memory, Otterbein won its first national title by rallying from an 11-point second half deficit to defeat Elizabethtown 102-83.
The title game thriller followed a pair of semifinals in which Mo Ross hit a 3-pointer in the closing minutes of the first game to lead Otterbein past Carthage 70-66. Rochester got a buzzer-beater in an incredible individual performance from Seth Hauben to send the game against Elizabethtown into overtime. The Yellowjackets opened the extra period with a three-point lead before the Blue Jays rallied to win 93-83.

Elizabethtown got 21 points from Bob Porambo, including 5-for-6 from 3-point range, to lead four scorers in double figures. Rochester's Hauben scored a career-high 39 points and grabbed a Final Four-record 18 rebounds to carry Rochester as far as they could go after losing sophomore forward Andy Larkin to injury and sophomore Brian Jones to five fouls.
Hauben was the unsung high scorer in a night where Otterbein's Jeff Gibbs scored 30 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Cardinals into the title game. Otterbein rallied from a 13-point first-half deficit and trailed by eight points in the second half before shutting out the No. 1 Redmen for the final 3:18 for the win.
