Carthage 90, Mass-Dartmouth 41
ADA, Ohio — Carthage left no doubt.

The No. 4-ranked Redmen raced to first half leads of 23-9, 30-10, 41-13 and 47-16 en route to an impressive 90-41 victory over No. 13 Mass-Dartmouth in the NCAA III Tournament sectional semifinals Friday night at Ohio Northern's ONU Sports Center.

Carthage (24-4) advances to face top-ranked Ohio Northern (26-2) in Saturday's Sectional finals with a trip to the Final Four on the line.

Carthage dominated every aspect of the game. The Redmen made good on 30 of 53 field goals (56.6%) and held UMD to 15-for-66 shooting (22.7%).

CC's Jason Wiertel led all scorers with 26 points and also grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. Greg Ktistou added 16 points, Antoine McDaniel scored 14 and Todd Brincks and Rob Garnes added 10 each for Carthage. Tim Gasper scored 10 points to lead the Corsairs.

CC outrebounded UMD 49-33. Carthage led 49-21 at halftime and continued its dominance in the second half, outscoring UMD 41-20 in the final 20 minutes.
