College 61, Millsaps 45 Mississippi College (23-4) was led by forward Keith Bell's 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting, while Stacey Keyes, Karlos Fairley and Steven Makamson added seven points apiece. Despite the defeat, junior guard Daniel Waguespack scored 16 points for Millsaps (20-6), grabbed 11 rebounds and made three steals to break the single-season record for steals with 69. It was previously 67 and set by Waguespack his freshman year. Senior center Joe Rogers chipped in nine points, three boards and a block, and sophomore forward Thomas Adams had seven points, seven rebounds and a block. The Majors shot just 30.8% from the floor (16-for-52) and a dismal 7-for-18 from the line (38.9%) in the loss. Mississippi College advances to the second round at conference rival McMurry. |
