Mississippi College 61, Millsaps 45
JACKSON, Miss. — Millsaps' first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1996 was a short one as the Majors lost to Mississippi College 61-45 in the first round on Thursday.

Mississippi College (23-4) was led by forward Keith Bell's 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting, while Stacey Keyes, Karlos Fairley and Steven Makamson added seven points apiece.

Despite the defeat, junior guard Daniel Waguespack scored 16 points for Millsaps (20-6), grabbed 11 rebounds and made three steals to break the single-season record for steals with 69. It was previously 67 and set by Waguespack his freshman year.

Senior center Joe Rogers chipped in nine points, three boards and a block, and sophomore forward Thomas Adams had seven points, seven rebounds and a block. The Majors shot just 30.8% from the floor (16-for-52) and a dismal 7-for-18 from the line (38.9%) in the loss.

Mississippi College advances to the second round at conference rival McMurry.
