State 65, Colby-Sawyer 59 The Golden Eagles' Brandon Mills led all scorers with 16 points and also had a team-high eight rebounds. Colby-Sawyer was paced by Grant Kelly who went 5-for-6 from the field and scored 15 points, but it was not enough for the Chargers who had their 16-game winning streak snapped. The game, which featured four ties and nine lead changes, was close throughout with neither squad able to gain an edge of more than nine points. Each team scored 32 points in the second stanza. Brockport State scored the first four points of the game before the Chargers recorded 14 of the next 18 to grab a 14-8 lead, their biggest of the night at 13:43 of the first half. The teams went to the break with the Golden Eagles leading 33-27, but the Chargers came out firing in the second half and took a 44-39 lead at the 13:55 mark. The teams then went back and forth before the Chargers relinquished the lead for good with 8:46 left in the game when Mark Perry grabbed an offensive rebound under the hoop and put it back for two points. Ethan Betts notched a double-double for CSC with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while teammate Brendan Carney scored 13 points. Additional double-digit scorers for Brockport State included Perry and Dave Sackett who tallied 12 points apiece. |
