Here's the 2017 NCAA Division III women's basketball tournament bracket as released by the NCAA this afternon.
Compared to our mock projection, we missed two at-large selections. The committee took Calvin and George Fox instead of Carnegie Mellon and WPI. Calvin must have jumped Carnegie Mellon by virtue of its win over Hope in the MIAA tournament and the committee decided not to penalize George Fox for the difficulty in finding non-conference Division III opponents. The Bruins will, however, have to play Whitman for the fourth time this year and third time in 15 days.
In terms of the bracketing, Guilford gets a hosting slot this weekend, Tufts and Amherst wouldn't meet again until the final and the three UAA teams are in three different brackets. Plus there are a couple marquee first round matchups with Hope playing UW-Whitewater at Thomas More and DePauw playing Gustavus Adolphus at UW-Oshkosh.
Plenty more to come throughout the day, including a Top 25 poll released tonight, so check back later. Plus, Hoopsville is going back through the brackets with the committee chairs:
