Lyndon State head coach Chris Dorsey is moving from Vermont to Shreveport, Louisiana to become the next head coach for the Centenary Gents.

Centenary College Director of Athletics and Recreation Dr. Bob Bunnell announced the hiring in a release on Friday.

"After a competitive national search, we are excited to welcome Chris to the Centenary College athletic community,” said Dr. Bunnell in the College's release. “We were impressed by his enthusiasm throughout the interview process and believe he is the right person to lead our student-athletes on and off the court. I know he will be an asset for the program for years to come.”

Dorsey spent the last three seasons coaching his alma mater Lyndon State in Lyndonville, Vt. Dorsey had a 33-45 record as the Hornets' head coach. Previously he was the associate head women's basketball coach at Division II Virginia-Wise for one season and an assistant coach at Daniel Webster for four seasons.

Dorsey replaces Adam Walsh who resigned from Centenary to take the head coaching job at Shenandoah.
