D3hoops.com All-Stars announced

Hardin-Simmons guard Matt Addison returns and is joined by nine more Division III standouts on the second annual D3hoops.com All-Star Team. The group, which will be coached by Dee Vick of Hampden-Sydney, was chosen by Sport Tours International from D3hoops.com All-Region nominees and other 2011-12 Division III men's basketball standouts. STI also runs the annual D3hoops.com Classic, held in Las Vegas in December.
The team will be in Europe from May 21-31 and is scheduled to visit and play against opponents in Paris, Amsterdam and Den Bosch, Netherlands.
Addison, a first-team D3hoops.com All-American and the 2011-12 South Region Player of the Year, was part of last year's inaugural tour and has his eye on playing professionally.
“The games will be a great opportunity for the all-stars to play against guys at the international level,” STI president Lee Frederick said. “They will get the chance to talk to Euroleague scouts and coaches and will be able to make contacts overseas. This will be invaluable to the guys that want to try and continue playing after graduation.”
“There are some great opportunities for Division III basketball players to continue their basketball career and gain a real-world education at the same time in Europe after graduation,” said D3hoops.com executive editor Pat Coleman. “We know this group will represent Division III well and gain some perspective on real life and basketball at the same time.”
