Final days until the Final Four

On Saturday night, Amherst, Hope, Washington U. and Rochester qualified for the Division III women's basketball Final Four and Williams, Guilford, UW-Stevens Point and Randolph-Macon qualified for the men's. And to say we had this pegged in the preseason might not be too much of an exaggeration on the women's side. Wash U was our preseason No. 1, Amherst was the preseason No. 2 and Hope the preseason No. 3.

Of course, Rochester came out of nowhere, entering the tournament at 19-6 and having been in the Top 25 in just one poll all season.

Heading to Salem, all but one team was in the preseason poll as well, while No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 in the final regular-season poll advanced. That makes No. 16 Randolph-Macon the dark horse on paper, if you could ignore the fact that it handed Williams its only loss of the season.

Check back all week for all that and more, including the D3hoops.com All-American team announcements on Saturday afternoon's broadcasts. Plus scroll down for more coverage from the Elite Eight.
