Kendra Hunter was a three-time D3hoops.com All-American as Kendra Meyer at Capital.
All-Decade pick to coach North Central
Kendra Hunter has been named head women's basketball coach at North Central (Ill.). Hunter was previously assistant athletic director and senior woman administrator at North Central in 2005-07 and an assistant coach there from 2003-05.

As an undergrad, Kendra Meyer was a three-time D3hoops.com All-American for Capital, including a first-team selection in 2001. She was named to the D3hoops.com All-Decade Team this past season as one of the best players of the past 10 years. She scored more than 1,500 career points and had 1,000 rebounds for the Crusaders.

She replaces Emily Bauer, whose squad turned in its second consecutive 11-14 campaign this past season. Bauer was 65-84 in six seasons at North Central and 127-132 overall.

Along with managing athletic events, Hunter oversaw student-athlete leadership programs including The Huddle, Student-Athlete Honors Breakfasts, Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and The Athletic Unity Council. She has also taught in the College's English department.

"Kendra truly understands Division III," said athletic director Jim Miller. "She's lived it in her undergraduate days and in her professional experiences. A four-time All-Academic and a three-time athletic All-American, she truly epitomizes and understands the student-athlete experience. She's intelligent, energetic and highly competitive. We are thrilled to have her back in the North Central College family."

Hunter earned her master's degree from Chicago in 2003 and her bachelor's degree from Capital in 2001. At Chicago, she coached women's basketball as the graduate assistant.
