Plattsburgh State and Wooster were represented on ESPNU.
Williams finishes on top at CBI
For Plattsburgh State guard Anthony Williams, the Collegiate Basketball Invitational was a chance to show what he could do against scholarship players. And Saturday night's All-Star game was a chance to be on national television.
“I’m happy because people back home at Plattsburgh were watching me on ESPNU tonight, showing support," Williams said. "That’s what I was thinking about in the game. I’ve got to represent them."
Williams, who scored 16 points in 17 minutes, and Wooster guard James Cooper each played for the winning East squad -- appropriate for Division III which is almost entirely east of the Mississippi -- and helped the team to a 107-85 win.
For Cooper, it was a halftime conversation with Wooster coach Steve Moore which helped turn his evening around. What did he have to say, and how did the rest of the Division III participants perform this weekend? Matt Florjancic talked to both Williams and Cooper and wraps up the second annual Collegiate Basketball Invitational. Plus, check out coverage from Day One and Day Two.
