St. Norbert knocked off UW-Stevens Point and Medaille rallied from seven points down to win at Scranton in Friday night's first-round women's action.

The No. 25 Green Knights jumped out to an 11-2 lead and survived a 21-5 run by the No. 13 Pointers in the second half in handing UW-Stevens Point its only home loss of the season, 71-57

Medaille trailed by seven points with 1:47 left but point guard Marisa Clark scored six of the Mavericks' last eight to end Scranton's 15-game winning streak, 56-54. Women's scores and updated bracket.

Brandeis put last March's second-half struggles behind it, rallying from 15 down with nine minutes left to edge Southern Maine, 74-71. Jamie Capra had a huge second half, keying the Brandeis rally with 19 of her 25 points. The Little East went 0-for-2 against the UAA as Eastern Connecticut fell to Rochester, 71-66. Helen Baroody paced the Yellowjackets with 15 points. Rochester will face Medaille in a rematch of a regular-season meeting won by the Mavericks.

Katie Kulavic scored 26 points as Oglethorpe won its first NCAA Tournament game, 91-78 over Piedmont. Oglethorpe meets Thomas More Saturday, blizzard conditions permitting. Illinois Wesleyan came up four points shy of Marymount's points record, scoring 111 in extending its win streak to 16 and ending a 20-game win streak for Maryville (Mo.). The Saints' record stands, but the Saints fell to Salem State.

Halsey Ward's 3-pointer with eight seconds left gave Washington U. a 73-72 win against Wilmington, earning the UAA another victory. Next up for the Bears, a rematch of the 2007 NCAA title game against defending champ DePauw, which handled Denison, 70-53 and knocked the Big Red out of the postseason for the second straight year. Chicago made it a 4-for-4 day for the league, knocking out St. Thomas, 62-59.

Two of Division III's top centers will go toe-to-toe on Saturday when Mary Washington and New Jersey meet. Eagles senior Liz Hickey had 17 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks in a 73-58 win over pesky Baruch. Lions junior Hillary Klimowicz had 16, to support the effort in a 65-52 win against Bridgewater (Va.).

Tufts nipped Wheaton (Mass.), 71-67 and will face host Mount St. Mary, which earned its second-ever NCAA win, topping Albright, 75-62. Bowdoin justified its selection into the tourney field, winning at Bridgewater State, 64-49. Alexa Kaubris had 19 for the Polar Bears, offsetting 34 combined points combined from the Bears' sister duo of Colleen and Caitlin Feeney. Bowdoin gets an all-NESCAC second-round match with Amherst, which throttled Becker.
