UW-Whitewater's men's and women's teams celebrated WIAC titles together on Saturday.
WIACs go to UWW
The UW-Whitewater men won the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season outright and the women shared it with UW-Eau Claire after the teams swept UW-River Falls on Saturday, 82-38 and 80-75.

The men, ranked No. 7 in the D3hoops.com Top 25, receive the top seed in the conference tournament, one with the automatic bid on the line, thanks to homestanding No. 23 UW-Platteville drubbing No. 5 UW-Stevens Point 84-65. The Pioneers shot 65 percent in the first half and put the game away with a 15-2 run in the second. Platteville gets the second seed in the tournament, with Stevens Point the third. No. 17 Ursinus finished running the table in the Centennial, holding on as a Muhlenberg buzzer-beater fell short in a 72-69 road win. The Bears await the winner of McDaniel and Dickinson in next Saturday's conference semis. Tyler Fantin made Senior Day memorable at No. 19 Virginia Wesleyan, with 24 points, 10 rebounds and a marriage proposal after the game, which was accepted.

Olivet's men closed out their gym in style, beating Calvin 82-65 for their first win against the Knights since Jan. 20, 1999. Gettysburg set a team record for wins, with its 21st, while Webster did the same, winning No. 19 in beating Eureka 86-56. The Gorloks have run the table so far in the SLIAC and have won 19 consecutive SLIAC games. Plattsburgh State finished the SUNYAC slate unbeaten as well, improving to 16-0 and 23-2 overall with an 86-75 win against SUNYIT.

DeSales won 75-67 at Division II Bloomsburg in a rare late-season out-of-division matchup. The Bulldogs improved to 20-5. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Colorado College finished its season at 0-24 with a 69-63 home loss to Trinity (Texas) and Rockford finished 0-25 with an 80-66 loss at Edgewood.

The four top seeds each advanced in the NESCAC tournament, setting up Middlebury (19-6) against Trinity, Conn. (19-6) and Bowdoin (20-5) against Amherst (23-2) at Amherst next Saturday. The league could receive multiple Pool C (at-large) bids once again.

Kent Raymond dropped 37 points on Elmhurst, surpassing the 1,500-point milestone and giving Wheaton (Ill.) the No. 3 seed in the CCIW tournament with a 78-69 win. The victory means the Thunder avoid Augustana but face Illinois Wesleyan, which swept them.

Willamette lost to Puget Sound 123-117 in double overtime but still made the
three-team NWC playoffs, surviving the four-way tie for third at 9-7. The Bearcats' reward is another game against Puget Sound in the semifinal. Buena Vista made its free throws down the stretch and edged Loras 80-79. The win gives the Beavers their fifth IIAC regular season title in nine years.
