Centre survives DePauw's last shot
Centre kept its winning streak going and snapped DePauw's streak, surviving 69-66 on the road on Saturday afternoon in SCAC play. The No. 3 Colonels, who improved to 21-1, got 22 points from Thomas Britt, including back-to-back baskets late in the game that gave Centre the lead.

After Britt hit a pair of free throws with 3.1 seconds remaining, Tony James went the length of the court for the Tigers (18-5) but couldn't connect on his running three-point attempt. Saturday's men's scores.

No. 2 UW-Whitewater got blown out by No. 9 UW-Stevens Point on the road, 76-47. The last time Whitewater lost by that much, it was during the memorable opening round of the 2001 WIAC Tournament, when the Warhawks lost 90-49 as the No. 1 seed. The Pointers blew tonight's game open with a 19-2 second-half run and scored 40 of the final 53 points.

No. 14 Wooster won for the 18th time in 19 games and split the season series with rival Wittenberg with a 66-61 win. D3hoops.com's Matt Florjancic was there on Senior Night at Wooster as a senior class of James Cooper, Evan Will and Devin Fulk led the Scots.

No. 8 Augustana survived an upset attempt as well, as Dana Given's three-pointer hit off the rim for Millikin to allow the Vikings to win 59-56. Illinois Wesleyan kept pace in the CCIW by beating Wheaton (Ill.) on the road. No. 16 UW-Platteville lost for the second consecutive game, but in a surprising way, falling 70-59 at 9-14 UW-Superior. Pomona-Pitzer ran out to a 34-14 halftime lead on the road at No. 18 Occidental and went on to win 62-47.

Seventh-seeded New York City Tech got 31 points from Omar Mahoney and a triple-double from Jamaal Hill as the Yellow Jackets knocked off No. 2 seed Brooklyn 88-78 in the CUNYAC quarterfinals. Hill had 14 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds -- not to mention 10 turnovers -- in the win. The No. 6 seed, John Jay, advanced as well, as did fifth-seeded Hunter behind 37 points from Marlon Smith. York (N.Y.), the top seed, was the only higher seed to advance.

John Noonan scored 22 points and Matt Hilton added 16 as No. 19 Ursinus went on a 33-12 run in the second half to pull away from Dickinson 88-62. Connecticut College shot 82 percent in the second half and 67 percent for the game in winning at Middlebury 93-86.
