LVC kicks off Think Pink week
Lebanon Valley kicked off the WBCA's Think Pink program for 2008 in front of a program-record 1,310 fans and raised $3,400 for the American Cancer Society in the process.
Each year, more than 700 colleges and universities around the country participate in "Think Pink" games to show their support. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game, and LVC asked attendees to make a donation in lieu of an admission charge.
"What a wonderful event it was around such a difficult subject as cancer," said LVC coach Todd Goclowski. "We talked about our challenges on the court and how they pale in comparison to someone experiencing that battle."
Lebanon Valley beat Lycoming 76-75 in overtime.
Lebanon Valley is just one of many Division III programs sponsoring Think Pink nights, along with Aurora, Washington and Jefferson, Edgewood, Kean, Manhattanville and New Jersey City.
