Eastern Nazarene 76, Nichols 66

Dudley, MA — Eastern Nazarene College earned its third victory of the season as it defeated Nichols College, 76-66, in a Commonwealth Coast Conference game tonight on the campus of Nichols College. Nichols College is no 6-11, and 3-6 in the CCC, while Eastern Nazarene improved to 3-16 and 2-8 in the CCC.

Eastern Nazarene was led by freshman Ricardo Jean-Noel (Montreal, QC) with 16 points, while sophomore Luc Jasmin (Pawtucket, RI) had 10 points, 13 rebounds and two blocks. Junior Christian Corey (Keene, NH) came off the bench and chipped in with 11 points.

In the first half, Nichols found itself down 10-2 in the first three minutes of play. The Bison fought back behind seven points from sophomore Chris Vallee (Ashburnham, MA) and nine points from sophomore Justin Lewis (Hopedale, MA). Eastern Nazarene kept the Bison at bay when Dan Shaw hit two mid-range jumpers near the end of the half for a 37-33 lead at the break.

Nichols did close to within three points with five minutes to play but sloppy play and missed foul shots did the Bison in. Vallee led the Bison with 19 points, six rebounds and three assists, while Lewis finished with 13 and Ron Powers added 13 as well.
