In a low-scoring affair Rivier relied upon the threesome of John McMahon, Jeff Carpenter and Brian Stice for more than half of their points in posting a 68-48 win over Daniel Webster College ending the Eagles’ two game win streak dating back to last year over their crosstown rivals. McMahon had 14, Carpenter 12 and Stice 13 for the 8-10 Raiders. Two freshmen carried the scoring load for the Eagles with Adam Greeno garnering 11 and Justin Van Dyke with 10 points. Carpenter had 11 rebounds to go with his offensive output as the Raiders won the battle of the boards, 57-39. Sophomore Neal Foley was high for the Eagles with six. Both teams had trouble finding their scoring touch as the Raiders shot 38 percent as a team and the Eagles 31 percent. The teams meet again in a GNAC match Feb. 11 at the Muldoon Center.
