UD forced 22 turnovers in the game, but took care of the ball when they had it, committing only 10 of their own. All of the Crusaders saw action in the game.
Rust would prove to be stronger than the Crusaders on the boards, out-rebounding UD 49-43, 22 of which were on the offensive glass. Rust Forwards Kelley Kingand LaDetra Bridges grabbed 9 and 15, respectively. They would also lead all Rust scorers with 19 and 14, respectively.
It would be the 40 points scored by UD's bench, including Angel Noble's (So -- Houston, TX) 3 of 5 shooting from the 3 point line, and another strong performance by Kristy Malone (Jr -- Rosenburg, TX) that put UD so securely in the lead. Malone finished with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Ana Castillo (Jr -- Dallas, TX) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds in just 14 minutes of play.
UD (11-9) can grab a quick rest and then will look forward to facing off against Trinity University (14-4)in San Antonio at 6pm Saturday.
