Husson 65, Elms 57

CHICOPEE, MA — Elms College senior forward Danielle Dugre (Holyoke, MA) registered her sixth double-double of the year with 18 points and 10 rebounds, but Husson College received a game-high 23 points and five blocks from junior center Annie McIntosh (New Gloucester, ME) and had four players reach double figures en route to a 65-57 win over the Blazers in Sunday afternoon’s North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women’s basketball game at the Maguire Center.

Husson College won for the fourth time in its last five games to improve to 7-11 overall, 6-4 NAC. Elms College lost for the fifth time in its last six games to fall to 7-9 overall, 6-4 NAC.

McIntosh recorded her second straight collegiate career-best point total in as many days after shooting 11 of 21 from the field.

Freshman guard Jenny Rollins (Corinth, ME) and junior guard Carmen Ballard (Skowhegan, ME) scored 12 points apiece, while junior forward Stephanie Noyes (Fairfield, ME) added 10 points to all reach double figures for the Eagles, who outscored the Blazers 36-10 in the paint.

Freshman forward Shauna Sullivan (Chicopee, MA) added 11 points to reach double figures for the second straight game for Elms College in the loss.

The Blazers return to NAC play when they host Lesley University on Wednesday, February 1. Game time is 6:00 p.m.
